What can i expect?
frequently asked questions or thoughts for students starting lessons.
When will I start to see results?
|
What if I get frustrated?
|
*First remember that nothing is perfect overnight. So you can't expect HUGE and DRASTIC changes to your voice in 1 month. However, you can start to see changes right away. Think of Lessons like seeing a Personal Trainer for a Marathon or going on a long term Diet. You will see changes in your body quickly at first right when you start and then things will start to become easier and you won't see the BIG changes come as quickly. But if you continue to work, continue to exercise, continue to push yourself, you will break through another barrier and you will see another really big change.
*We HIGHLY suggest you record yourself. The best way to hear progress is to go back and listen to your first lesson to your current lesson. You will be able to hear distinct differences in your voice once you incorporate the techniques we will be giving you. I always say, invest in at least a year. A year is a good indicator of really getting the technique down and hearing a significant difference in your voice. *If this is not your first time doing lessons, you may see your voice change much quicker as you have a foundation to work from. Giving you new techniques and new vocabulary (or just a different way of saying it) will give you a significant push right away. |
* You might. And that's OK! Just remember that you are working on a skill that doesn't come quickly over night for most people. You are working to craft your instrument. Just like learning Piano, Another Instrument or another skill, it takes time. Give yourself the time. Invest in yourself and practice. The more you work to perfect your craft, the better and sooner you will see results.
Will I sound like...(Insert professional's name here)?
* No. And you shouldn't! You are your own unique person with you own unique sound. We want to build YOUR voice, YOUR talent and make you sound like YOU. No one is in the market for a #2. They want something unique and completely individual and that is what YOU have to offer. We want YOU to be the success, not the imposter..
Am I too Old or too Young?
* No one is ever too young or old to improve technique and talent. We want everyone to share their abilities with others and learn (or improve) good habits.
*If you're young, there is no better time to start then the present. Ask yourself. 1- can I commit to practice? 2- Am I ready to put in the work to improve? Then you're ready! *If you're "old", you always can improve your skill. You can always better your talents and work on the confidence to share it. Ask yourself. 1- am I ready to invest in myself? 2- Will I make the time to Practice? Then you're ready! |
